Your Emirates ID can now be used to access e-gates

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has completed the activation of electronic gate service through the use of Emirates Identity card at the arrival wing of Terminal Three at Dubai International Airport.


Emirates ID card holders can now utilize this service without the need for prior registration.
Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the GDRFA said all residents travelling through the airport can now use their ID cars to access the e-gates, a service which will benefit all citizens and residence of the UAE at the arrival wing of Terminal Three.



The service will be soon activated in all other terminals as well.
Major General Bin Suroor said the E-gate service using the ID card has a lot of benefits, one of them being the fact that it only requires a single card to travel, noting that there are currently 28 e-gates in the arrival wing at terminal three.


He further explained that there aren’t any charges or prior registration for using this service, it only requires a valid Emirates ID. He said the first phase of the activation will be in Terminal one, two, and three at both the arrivals and departures wings.


Lt-Colonel Talal Al Shanqeeti, Assistant of the Director-General for for airport affairs at the GDRFA said the activation of this project is important and that the service ensures a smooth and easy process for all travelers.
