Ryan Ellis has been appointed Head of GSA Territory Management by Virgin Atlantic Cargo to lead and manage the airline’s 40 general sales agency partners in 25 countries.

Based at the airline’s cargo headquarters close to London Gatwick Airport, Ryan is responsible for all of Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s GSA management across the network. He will also manage and drive key customer relationships in the territories on five continents where the airline has GSA representation and identify new locations to deliver further opportunities.

Ryan joined Virgin Atlantic Cargo six years ago and prior to this new appointment, he spent three years as Regional Sales Manager – Continental Europe, driving a significant increase in the airline’s European business.

John Lloyd, Senior Vice President, Cargo at Virgin Atlantic, said, “Our GSA partners play a very important role in our global business, generating around a quarter of our annual sales revenues. Ryan is therefore taking a very important role to ensure they achieve the results we need them to attain alongside providing the highest levels of customer service. He will make sure our GSA partners have the training and support they need to deliver the best possible results for Virgin Atlantic Cargo.”

Through its own network of flights serving major cargo gateways across the U.S, Hong Kong and China, Dubai, India, South Africa, Nigeria and the Caribbean, its long-haul cargo sales and management agreement with Virgin Australia, and on forwarding connections, Virgin Atlantic Cargo now offers its customers a choice of some 500 destinations worldwide.
