Members of the National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL) joined the staff and students of the Al Noor Training Center for Children with Special Needs in observing the 45th UAE National Day with a flag- raising ceremony capped with a hearty lunch.

Nadia Abdul Aziz, president of NAFL and a member of the Board of Governors of the Al Noor Training Center, says the children with special needs managed to raise the UAE flag using assistive technology.

At the event, they also had fun doing henna painting and having their photos taken with their national attire.
Abdul Aziz said NAFL chose to celebrate the occasion with the children with special needs to create awareness about their condition and see how the more than 350 members of the group can further help them.

“We want the National Day to be unique. Instead of having the celebration in a five- star hotel, we wanted to create awareness about the children with special needs so that our members can see how as a community we can help them. We have 350 plus member companies in our membership,” she said.

The Al Noor Training Center was made possible through the generous land and funding donated by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Today, the center, the oldest of its kind which operates through funding from the community and the private sector, provides much needed training and help for more than 300 children with special needs so they can integrate in mainstream society.

The center welcomes visitors at “Coffee Mornings” whereby the children with special needs serve them with coffee and muffins. A special tour of the center follows.

HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Honorary Patron of the Al Noor Training Center for Children with Special Needs.
