Michael Christensen named President of Saas & CPO International Supply Chain Solutions
SEKO Logistics has named Michael Christensen as President Saas & CPO International Supply Chain Solutions to lead a new business division for its award-winning technology solutions.
Software-as-a-Service (Saas) is one of the fastest-growing parts of SEKO’s business. In 2015, its Transportation Management System (TMS) was implemented by a Top 50 Global Technology Company in the Fortune Global 500 rankings in a ‘watershed’ contract that signalled SEKO’s ability to deliver SaaS applications for large global corporations.
Michael Christensen joins SEKO from his former role as Global Head of Forwarding for DAMCO International. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, he has held executive positions in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific, including VP of Maersk Logistics, President Asia Pacific of Manugistics, Global Head of International Logistics at DHL, and CEO of Arshiya.
William J. Wascher, President and CEO of SEKO Logistics, said: “Michael is an executive with a proven track record as a global supply chain leader, working with leading organizations within logistics, forwarding, and IT. His expertise will help us to significantly grow SEKO’s SaaS product revenue and signals a new stage in our development as we realize the opportunities opening us for us as both a logistics company capable of bundling outstanding technology and freight forwarder as well as our growing reputation as a stand-alone software provider.”
This new appointment will see Tom Madzy, SEKO’s Chief Information Officer, continuing to take an active sales support role for the company’s SaaS division while also enabling him to focus on the SEKO’s systems development and infrastructure to support its growing global logistics business.
SEKO’s SaaS offering incorporates Transportation Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Purchase Order Management solutions. The company’s growth is now being spearhe aded by its ability to deliver a perfect platform that combines international and domestic supply chains with the omni-channel and ecommerce aspirations of its customers. Its latest technology solution for customers will be launched later this year.
Commenting on the potential for SEKO’s SaaS product offering, Michael Christensen said: “SEKO is not new to this. We have been delivering award-winning software services for our customers since the launch of our MySEKO portal in 2004. Now we’re taking this to the next level. The success of the SaaS team at SEKO over the past 18 months is nothing short of impressive. Rarely does one see an offering that combines a deep understanding of the value chain from an execution perspective, leading edge technology, fast implementation and quick ROI. We have a long history of delivering tangible results for our customers and, most importantly, people that understand the process and what customers need now and for the future.”
