Messe Muenchen opens up opportunities along the Silk Road

China is the strongest foreign trade nation in the world. With Shanghai as one of the most important logistics centers, the Middle Kingdom has established itself as the largest market for logistics services – and with it transport logistic China. From the 16 to 18 of May 2018, the international logistics industry will meet for the eighth time at transport logistic China at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). The Asian leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management with more than 40,000 sqm of exhibition space offers the opportunity to maintain existing contacts and to establish new connections.

The core of the Chinese trading strategy is the New Silk Road Initiative, which is to open up new trade corridors and involve massive investments in infrastructure. The German Ambassador to Peking, H. E. Michael Clauß, recently viewed the initiative as a positive measure at an event organized by the FCCC foreign correspondents club. This is especially true given the fact that two thirds of the countries along the planned New Silk Road do not actually qualify for investments, but China still offers a total of one trillion euros. This is why it promotes the economic development of these countries. The ambassador stressed to the correspondents present: “Europe and the US are in danger of underestimating the project.”

Gerhard Gerritzen, member of the executive board of Messe München GmbH, emphasized the significance of the fair: “Shanghai is the starting point of the ‘One Belt – One Road’ initiative for the logistics sector and nowhere else will this be better seen than at the transport logistic China. The importance for the countries along the land route, as well as the maritime Silk Road, will be highlighted in our top-class conference program.”

The three trade fairs air cargo China, perilog China and truck & trailer China will again take place in 2018 as part of transport logistic China. air cargo China is the largest industry event for airfreight in the Asian region. Visitors have the opportunity to get in contact with airlines, airports, service and logistics service providers on over 5,000 sqm of exhibition space. With a total of 10 segments, perilog China is dedicated to the challenges of perishable logistics and thus builds on the success of the 2016 fair. Experts for commercial vehicles, on the other hand, get their money’s worth at truck & trailer China.

In addition, the multi-faceted conference program with more than 100 high-caliber speakers will offer visitors the opportunity to acquire information about the Asian logistics market and the latest trends in the logistics sector.

At transport logistic China 2016, 602 exhibitors from 48 countries and more than 22,000 visitors from 65 countries were represented.
