HIA to use Audi cars for VIP transfers

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has welcomed the brand-new fleet of Audi luxury cars that will be consigned to shuttle VIPs. The premium fleet includes the Audi Q7, RS 6 Avant and A8 L.

The announcement was made at a special handover ceremony, which was attended by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H.E. Mr Akbar Al Baker; Chief Operating Officer of HIA, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer; Audi AG – Vice President of Overseas Sales, Terrence Johnson; and Audi Middle East – Brand Director, Enrico Atanasio.

Hamad International Airport is an award-winning airport that recently won first place on the list of best airports in Middle East and the tenth among worldwide airports according to the Skytrax website. The awards are based on travellers’ feedback on services provided, reflecting quality, ease of service and superior facilities for passengers. HIA offers Qatar Duty Free, a premium shopping emporium with more than 40,000 square meters of combined retail and dining with more than 70 boutiques and 30 cafés and restaurants. In addition to the passenger terminal, HIA’s airport hotels and its Oryx Lounge provide an atmosphere of comfort and luxury, where travelers can enjoy hospitality. Passengers can also take advantage of the food court, smoking room, a business center, a quiet area for relaxation, Internet services as well as a children’s play room, spa and fitness facilities that include a 25 meter indoor pool, a water treatment basin, Gym and squash courts.



Celebrating 35 years of quattro, the all-new Q7, which will be part of the HIA fleet, is a combination of trend-setting design and precision dynamics. The model’s 45 TFSI engine offers a power output of 333hp, achieving an acceleration 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The RS 6 Avant, with its impressive exterior, sporty fenders and striking air vents with side flaps. And a V8 engine that triggers a unique roar and features the best in range acceleration speeds, reaching a maximum of 305 km/h.



For passengers seeking even greater space and luxury, the A8L is set to thrill with its increased legroom and elegant upholstery. Exerting a power output of 333 bhp, the model’s TFSI engine demonstrates exceptional handling stability, dynamism and agility even for the shortest of distances.
