Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has expanded into the Republic of Ireland with the opening of its first branch.
The forwarder’s new business is close to Dublin Airport and will provide airfreight, seafreight, overland and customs clearance services.
The new company will target the time-critical pharma and healthcare industries, as well as the electronics sector.
Hellmann said its expansion into the Irish market was “another important step in its growth strategy”.
This year, Hellmann has already established additional national companies in Switzerland, Slovakia, and most recently in Italy.
“Due to the strong development of its economy, Ireland is playing an increasingly important role in the European and global market,” Hellmann said.
The logistics firm is hoping to create synergies between its Ireland and UK operations.
The new branch will be led by Niamh Savage who takes on the role of general director.
“The opening of our new national company in the Republic of Ireland is another important milestone in our growth strategy towards a comprehensive European network,” said Jens Tarnowski, regional chief executive west Europe, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
“On this basis, we can guarantee our customers a wide range of services from a single source. Together, [Savage and] her team will expand our presence in Ireland.
“In this way, we want to open up new local markets even better and make Ireland a strong player in the global Hellmann network.”
