World Courier's Milestone SAF Deal with Swiss WorldCargo
Logistics firm World Courier will purchase Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from Swiss WorldCargo – in a deal that is the largest SAF purchase made through the airline so far.
In total, the company has purchased enough SAF to support the movement of 2,000 shipments from London to Switzerland, which will result in 146,513 kg of reduced carbon emissions.
Head of cargo at Swiss International Air Lines Lorenzo Stoll said: “At Swiss WorldCargo we invest in driving positive change in the airfreight landscape and are directing our efforts to make collaborations such as the one with World Courier a new reality in the near future.
“World Courier’s investment in SAF with Swiss WorldCargo is in fact a statement of our shared commitment for a more sustainable future of our logistics industry.”
Alex Guite, senior vice president of global operations & services at World Courier, added: “Our partners trust us to deliver vital pharmaceutical products around the world, ensuring they can reach the patients who need them.
“As we continue to enhance our service capabilities, we remain equally focused on investing in solutions and implementing practices that enable us to establish more efficient and sustainable operations globally.”
World Courier is part of the Cencora group, which is aiming to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6% by fiscal year 2032, based on fiscal year 2019 figures.
