Realterm Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Airfreight Logistics Centre at Calgary Airport
Global investment manager Realterm has acquired the Airfreight Logistics Centre at Canada’s Calgary International Airport to expand its transport logistics property portfolio.
The center is situated on land leased from the Calgary Airport Authority, directly adjacent to the airfield at the Calgary International Airport (YYC), which handles 75% of Alberta’s air cargo shipments.
Totaling 502,065 sq ft, the center includes a mix of small and mid-bay facilities, a total of 159 loading doors and direct access to the airfield.
“This strategic acquisition, with direct access to the tarmac and proximity to vital transportation routes, amplifies our presence in the Calgary area and provides a unique opportunity to meet the needs of the rapidly growing airport community” said Alexi Lachambre, vice president, investments at Realterm.
The five properties are located on the west side of YYC, offering tenants direct access to Highway 2, the north-south thoroughfare that is part of the CANAMEX Trade Corridor.
“We are especially proud of this acquisition, furthering our strategic goal of offering best-in-class transportation logistics facilities to our user-partners,” said Jacob Smiley, associate vice president, investments at Realterm.
