New Zealand’s Mondiale VGL Acquires Multimodal Forwarder Interunion

Published: Tuesday, July 23, 2024

Mondiale VGL is pleased to announce its acquisition of Interunion, a leading provider of air, sea, and land transportation, warehousing, logistics, and domestic transportation services in Southeast Asia.

Before the acquisition, Mondiale VGL already held a stake in Interunion, and the two companies have been partners since 2012.

This acquisition is a strategic move for both parties, enhancing opportunities for customers of both organizations to access an expanded network of global offices, both in Southeast Asia through Interunion’s network and globally with Mondiale VGL.

Interunion operates in five rapidly growing markets in Southeast Asia: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Interunion team, service offerings, branch network, and brand will remain unchanged, ensuring no disruption for customers or agents in daily operations.

Mondiale VGL, a growing freight forwarding company, employs over 1,500 staff across 56 offices in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, and the USA, and is supported by over 500 agency offices worldwide. Mondiale VGL has been focused on building a global supply chain operation with its roots in the Asia-Pacific region.

The acquisition of Interunion aligns with this strategic objective, further extending Mondiale VGL’s presence in the region and enhancing its customer service offering.
