MoTC inaugurates Duqm Airport in Oman
The new Duqm Airport has been opened by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) in Oman, providing the breakbulk hub with an air cargo terminal to support Duqm Port & Freezone.
The airport has an air cargo terminal with an area of 9,958sqm and a capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year.
The airport occupies a total area of 27,386sqm and has an estimated capacity of half a million passengers a year with the potential for a maximum capacity of 2-million annually.
The airport includes a passenger building on an area of 9,614sqm, an air navigation complex, a 38m air traffic control tower.
The runway is 4km long and 75m wide, with connecting lanes and a parking area for four aircraft, including the Airbus A380, as well as other facilities.
Flight operations at the airport began in September 2018.
