Dnata Catering & Retail is investing $17 million in a new inflight catering center at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI). This advanced facility will be part of the WSI Cargo Precinct.

Mark Stubbings, dnata’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to the Australian aviation industry. “Our team and facility will deliver world-class services,” he said. “We are excited to contribute to the airport’s growth.”

The catering center will produce up to three million meals annually. It will create over 200 jobs within the next decade, according to Stubbings. Recruitment begins in 2026 for roles like chefs, drivers, and attendants.

WSI CEO Simon Hickey highlighted dnata’s investment as a sign of the airport’s progress. “Dnata is investing in WSI and future opportunities,” Hickey said. He praised the operational efficiencies of the Cargo Precinct, with its proximity to the terminal and airside access.

The 3,200 m² facility will feature energy-efficient equipment, recycled water, and a waste treatment plant. Dnata has the option to expand to 6,400 m² as demand grows.

Construction of the dnata facility is underway, with completion expected in late 2026. The initial investment also includes a fleet of ground support equipment.
