Volga-Dnepr, Chapman deliver welding system to Malaysia
A 19-ton portable welding system was part of a shipment delivered to Malaysia by Volga-Dnepr Airlines and air charter specialists Chapman Freeborn to support restoration work at one of the country’s biggest electricity power stations.
The IL-76TD-90VD freighter flight operated to Bintulu, Malaysia, from Jakarta in Indonesia.
The welding equipment and other cargo was required to repair a malfunction of the main rotor at one of energy companies’ power stations which provides electricity for the Malaysian state of Sarawak. All 11 pieces of cargo were packed in special crates for transportation and were loaded using a three-ton capacity forklift vehicle.
Chapman Freeborn’s regional manager in Singapore, Anton Lomakin, said, “This on-time transport operation was another excellent example of how we work closely with Volga-Dnepr to deliver urgent cargo all over the world. We value the Volga-Dnepr team’s professional work on behalf of our clients.”
