Wirral Met College to open logistics centre in September
Wirral Met College is about to launch its new logistics centre, which is due to open in September this year.
The centre has been created to meet the increasing demand for people with skills and qualifications to support the growing logistics sector which includes warehousing and storage.
Wirral Met will be offering a suite of qualifications, designed for people working within warehousing and storage.
Students will learn the skills, techniques and methods applied when working within the logistics industry.
Focusing on health & safety, selecting products, stock control, ordering and dispatching of goods and transportation control which are all key requirements of the logistics sector.
These nationally recognised qualifications will improve students’ employment opportunities to enable them to get jobs in areas such as control and replenishment assistants, store assistants and warehouse operatives, with an option of progressing into higher level, management qualifications within the logistics sector.
Students will also have the opportunity to attain a fork lift truck driving qualification while on the course, improving their employment potential even further.
