Dubai Wholesale City to become the capital of international wholesale market

An integrated hub, worth $8.1bn (AED30bn), has been launched in Dubai. Dubai Wholesale City will span 5,109ha (550 million sqf), and is aimed at being ‘the capital of international wholesale’ trade.
The project was officially unveiled by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Remarking on the development, HH Sheikh Mohammed, said, “Our goal is to take a bigger share of the $4.3tn global wholesale market, offering a strategic location with the best infrastructure.
“The City will be the capital of international wholesale, tying together four continents with the largest gathering of global wholesalers.”
While no details have been revealed about the project’s location or completion date, HH Sheikh Mohammed confirmed the development will be the world’s largest wholesale hub upon completion, with seamless logistics capacity thanks to its proximity to Al Maktoum Airport.
