Lautzenhausen, Germany—TRIWO Hahn Airport saw a huge increase on its passenger and cargo volumes during the first three months of the year, signaling a good start.

The airport welcomed more than 440,000 passengers in Q1 2025, up by 30 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Cargo volumes were also up by 8 percent to 22,000 tons.

“The year 2025 has gotten off to a good start,” said Rüdiger Franke, Managing Director at TRIWO Hahn Airport. “Airlines have expanded their services at Hahn Airport. This also applies to the summer flight schedule, which has been in effect since March 30. We expect to draw 2.2 million passengers by the end of the year.”

The airport remains an important cargo hub with its 24-hour operating permit, but Franke cautioned, “However, it remains to be seen how the current geopolitical uncertainties will affect the cargo business.”

Hahn Airport’s terminal is gearing up for modernization and digitalization to ensure seamless flow of passengers while keeping them secure.
