Nairobi Airport marked CEIV certified in Africa

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has awarded Swissport’s warehouse operations at Nairobi with the CEIV, IATA’s Centre for Excellence for Independent Validators, a certificate for pharmaceutical logistics. The facility is the first to be CEIV certified in Africa and Swissport’s 9thto be given the status.

Since the opening of Nairobi logistics centre in 2010, Swissport has continued to develop the facilities to accommodate pharmaceuticals at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Swissport have since invested in state-of-the-art temperature-controlled area with 208 rack positions and a capacity of 250 tonnes of pharmaceutical shipments. With annual growth of nearly 10% and a turnover of over 57,000 tonnes in 2019, Nairobi Airport is an important cargo location in Swissport’s global network of 1155 warehouses.
