Delta, LATAM Expand JV to Argentina, Boost Cargo Links
Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group have announced the expansion of their Joint Venture (JV) to include Argentina, further strengthening a trans-American alliance established two years ago. This strategic move opens up access to over 200 destinations across the United States, Canada, and Argentina, offering enhanced travel and cargo connectivity.
“The expansion of our joint venture with LATAM to include Argentina marks another milestone in our mission to build the leading partnership between North and South America,” Delta said in a joint statement. “It represents our continued efforts to offer customers a wider network, consistent service, and more rewarding loyalty options.”
With Argentina’s inclusion, passengers will benefit from greater access to Delta’s extensive North American network, while enjoying mutual perks through the Delta SkyMiles and LATAM Pass frequent flyer programs. Travelers can accrue and soon redeem miles on both airlines, while elite members will receive premium benefits such as lounge access, priority services, and complimentary seat selection.
Michael Andlauer, founder and CEO of AHG, emphasized the shared values between both companies: “UPS Healthcare and AHG employees share a similar customer and patient-centric culture with a relentless focus on quality.”
Cargo operations are also expected to see a major boost. LATAM highlighted that “this expansion will improve connectivity for customers transporting cargo between the US/Canada and Argentina, offering integrated solutions on both passenger and freighter aircraft, with more flight options, connections, and benefits.”
The carriers have already secured the final prior regulatory approval to implement the incorporation of Argentina into the JV. The operation has been notified for post-launch evaluation by Argentina’s National Commission for the Defense of Competition.
The expanded joint venture is poised to deliver enhanced service, efficiency, and benefits to both passengers and cargo clients across the Americas.
