The Logistics District unveils the Masary system to facilitate the transit of goods and vehicles

The Logistics District at Dubai South has launched Masary, a new smart electronic system that reduces the transit time of goods and vehicles. The new system is considered the first of its kind in the region and will positively impact the traffic of goods and vehicles that move through the district.

The Masary system is part of the district’s efforts to adopt new technologies to facilitate businesses, which is in line with Dubai’s government policy on digital transformation that aims to enhance the emirate’s status as a leading logistics services centre in the region.

Masary is considered to be a smart, safe and innovative system that is digitally connected to Dubai Police, Dubai Customs and other relevant government departments. The system is characterized by its speedy process while issuing permits by reducing the time it takes from 4 hours to a mere 10 minutes.

Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Logistics District at Dubai South, stated that the district is one of the leading free zones in Dubai that promotes the logistics sector, and is a leader when it comes to offering smart services that are in line with the Smart Dubai 2021 strategy, which promotes a digital transformation of the emirate’s services and initiatives.

Ahmad said: “The new Masary system is a pioneering initiative from the Logistics District that aims to facilitate the movement of goods using a simple and quick method that saves time, which is a critical way to improve the processes and practices of logistics companies. The system is an example of the important role that Dubai South plays in offering innovative services and facilities that attract various investors from the logistics sector.”

AbdulBasit Al Marzouqi, Director of Logistics Operations at Dubai South, stated that 80% of the district’s logistics services have been digitized, and that the district aims to digitally transform 95% of its services by 2020. He added that launching the Masary system is part of the district’s efforts to enhance its performance and increase its competitiveness in the logistics sector.

The Logistics District at Dubai South offers various competitive advantages to companies which includes the ability to easily connect to local and global shipping lanes, and to offer innovative electronic services that save both time and money for logistics companies, which makes the district an attractive location for global companies that are looking to benefit from investment opportunities in promising markets in the region.
